This AICTE approved Institute under GGSIP University is ideally located in the Institutional area of Janakpuri, New Delhi. It has a campus spread over eight acres of land with beautiful eco-friendly surroundings. Institute was earlier operating from four storey building of 6279 sq.m of built up area. Recently it has been shifted to a more spacious seven storeyed building with built up area of 9660 sq.m The institute has over a short span of time acquired and developed impressive infrastructure, expertise and resources for imparting high quality engineering education.

Teaching Methodology

The institute has a well qualified and experienced faculty. The most contemporary teaching methodology at MSIT provides ample opportunity for students to develop into all round professionals by keeping abreast of the ever changing technologies. The Institute aims to achieve and excel the high standards set by premiere technical institutions of the country. The traditional classroom teaching is supplemented by regular tests, tutorials, group discussions, extensive lab work, projects, seminars and industrial exposure by way of industry visits and summer training. Eminent academicians & professionals are invited as visting faculty to teach & guide specific courses. While teaching engineering fundamentals, keeping pace with the evolving definitions and concepts, a sincere effort is also made to cover the latest in each subject area.The classroom atmosphere is synergetic with interactive and participative sessions. This makes learning proactive and instills in the students a sense of team spirit, responsibility and professional integrity. It helps in building a healthy student-faculty bond, which develops students to their fullest potential and harnesses the best in the teachers.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure consists of well lit lecture halls, fully furnished labs, seminar halls, staff rooms, a large size play ground etc. For the fresh students there are well equipped labs for ‘Applied Sciences’, ‘Applied Mechanics’ and ‘Electrical Engg. Lab’ in addition to a well established ‘Workshop’ and a well lit ‘Drawing Hall’. The six modern air-conditioned networked computers labs cover entire range of Computer Science & IT subjects like Software Engg., Network Technology, Mobile Computing, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics, Computer Graphics, Compiler Construction, Analysis & Design of Algorithms, Interface Programming, Data Structure, DBMS & Object Oriented Programming. All labs have licensed software such as Visual Studio, .Net 2003, Auto Cad 2004, MS Office Professional 2003, Oracle 9i, TASM, Orcad, Windows XP. The software is updated and upgraded frequently as per the requirements and demands of the training. High speed, around–the–clock internet access using a radio link is also available. Students are offered real software projects relating to the current industry requirments to facilitate smooth transition from academics to industrial environment. The Electronics & Comm. Engg. Department has eight modern laboratories covering all the important subjects eg. Analog Electronics Lab, Control Engg. Lab, Microwave Devices lab, Digital Image Processing Lab,Consumer Electronics Lab, Digital Circuits & Systems Lab and Microprocessors lab. Recently a VLSI Design Lab and a Satellite & Mobile Comm. Lab have been also added. Adequate licenced MATLAB tool boxes,Tanner tools as well as the kits of IPGA/CPLD microprocessors and advanced microprocessors are available to give the students clear insight into design and development processes. Faculty is supported by a well trained technical staff. A full backup power supply is available for the campus round the clock.

Electronics And Communication Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering which has a fine blend of experienced as well as young and dynamic personalities as faculty, is involved in providing quality education at Undergraduate (UG) level. They have an unceasing commitment towards students, helping them learn, grow, and develop and achieve their goals, whether it is becoming a professor, an entrepreneur, or joining industry. The research interests of the faculty members encompass a wide gamut of sub-disciplines of Electrical Engineering. Collaboration with faculty members from other disciplines, both within and outside the institute, is encouraged. The lab facilities and the infrastructure are regularly upgraded and are well supported by the institute and the industry.

The department is actively engaged in teaching activities in the field of Power Systems, High Voltage Engineering, Advance Control Systems, Power Electronics and Drives, Signal Processing and Energy Studies. It has a broad based UG curriculum. The syllabi of the courses are continuously updated and the laboratories modernized to reflect the rapid changes in technology. Our undergraduate students are drawn from across the India.

Analogue Electronics Lab

Basic principles of electronic circuits are assimilated in two sessions (semester 3 and semester 4) of circuits laboratories.

Digital Ckt. & System Lab

Digital Principles, Basic IC’s and digital systems design including – Flip-flops – Code converters & Counter ICs ADC, MUX & DEMUX, RAM & ROM chips

Microprocessor Lab (8085 and 8086)

Trains the student in basic programming techniques, interfacing with peripheral devices (8253,8254,8255,8251,8271, ADC, DAC etc)

Satellite and MobileCommunication Lab

This lab consists of satellite trainer kit, Antenna trainer Kit, different type of Antenna, GSM Trainer Kit and other tools, which help the students to understand the concept of satellite and mobile communication.

Consumer Electronics Lab

This lab helps the students to understand the designing of various consumer electronics goods like T.V etc. It has various setups for performing experiments on consumer electronics concepts and live models.

Control Lab

This lab has been sey up at a cost of about Rs. 5 lac for final year students. It consists of hardware practicals which help the students to understand various control techniques and also software package such as control tool box, fuzzy tool box neura tool boxes.

Microwave Lab

this lab designed as per course in 6th semester and all worth mentioning technologies available in this lab.

Computer Science Engineering

The immense progress in the field of Computer Science has been an ever accelerating process. The Computer Science and Engineering Department was established in the year 2000 with the vision to offer Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science & Engineering and impart world class education to the students. A group of well qualified, experienced and highly motivated faculty is engaged in providing quality education to the future computer engineer and keeping them abreast of the fast technological development. The Department provides state of the art computing facilities to the students with four well equipped air-conditioned computer laboratories for subjects like C and Java Programming, Computer Graphics, Database management System, Data Structures, Analysis & Design of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Linux & X-Windows. There are over 200 PCs equipped with core i5(2nd generation), core2duo and P-IV processors, necessary peripherals and multimedia kits. Each of the laboratories has numerous Laser Printers and Deskjet Printers, and adequate latest licensed software such as Visual Studio .Net 2003, Autocad 2000 and MS-Office Professional 2003 & 2010, Oracle 9i, SQL Server 2000, Rational Rose, etc. Sufficient systems are available for students, maintaining the prescribed PC to student’s ratio of 1:4 as per the AICTE norms. Realizing the importance of rapid advancements in the computer science & Information Technology sectors, all the laboratories have been furnished with Network Structure and their software is updated and upgraded frequently as per the requirements and demand of industry. Facility for round the clock internet access, using radio link connectivity, is also offered to all students. The computer Centre imparts regular training and encourages students in developing real life software projects. The well equipped laboratories help students to meet ever increasing technological and social challenges with its traditions of self discipline, hard work and a creative approach to solve exigent issues. In addition the Department regularly organizes a series of lectures by academicians and professionals of the highest repute, which lay stress on the latest innovative technologies in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology.

Information Technology

Information Technology is most prominent and rapidly developing field in todays world. To maintain speed with latest trends in Information Technology industry, our Information Technology department is fully empowered. Our fully air-conditioned laboratories contain sufficient number of computer systems with latest hardware and software configuration. Since IT is composed of data processing and transmission, we are having latest communication hardware and software with proper multimedia support to each system. A very high speed internet connection is there in the labs. Net surfing is provided to the students as per their requirements. Guest faculty specialized in respective fields of Information Technology are invited from time to time to keep students in touch with latest trends in technology and to broaden their spectrum of knowledge. All facilities in the labs are continuously examined and upgraded whenever required. The department has well qualified and experienced faculty for guiding students in right direction. All the departments are having well equipped spacious laboratories with pleasant working environment. Practical Labs

Physics Lab

The experiments in the physics lab have been designed keeping in mind the direct application to Information Technology and Electronics and Communication Engineering. By working on them, students can have self confidence. Experiments are based on modern technology such as Fiber Optics, Laser, Ultrasonic etc.

Chemistry Lab

The lab is well equipped having modern and sophisticated instruments and apparatus. Though a lot of literature is available on the subject, yet the concerned teacher provides comprehensive notes consisting of simple and easy approach on the subject matter. All the experiments are planned in such a manner that it gives a complete understanding of various chemical process which the engineer will encounter while working as a professional.

Engineering Mechanics Lab

The lab is spacious and well equipped. The lab houses all the experiments as per B. Tech curriculum, however additional practicals can also be performed. The lab is equipped with Universal Testing Machine, Spring Tension- Compression Testing Machine, Torsion Testing Machine and Izod Impact Testing Machine etc.

Mechanical Workshop

The layout of the workshop is of such a type that it provides good working environment to the students. The workshop has various shops such as Machine Shop, Fitting Shop, Sheet Metal Shop, Foundry Shop, Welding Shop, Carpentry Shop and Painting Shop. All the shops are having sufficient space and equipments. The machine shop contains Lathes, Milling Machines, Shaper Machines and Drilling Machines etc. All the students are provided with enough practice in respective shops
