ISIC Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences About-:

Government of NCT of Delhi has established Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998. This is an affiliating & teaching University that aims to facilitate and promote studies, research and extensive work in emerging areas of higher education with focus on professional education in various disciplines.

The University is running more than 60 programs, imparting professional educational to more than 38,000 students with an annual intake of about 12,000. University Grants Commission of India recognizes GGSIP University under section 12-B of UGC Act. National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) has granted the university as ‘A-grade’ University.

All the Masters’ courses run by ‘ISIC Institute of rehabilitation Sciences’ are affiliated to their respective councils. The Masters of Physiotherapy & Occupational therapy is recognized by ‘The Delhi council for Physiotherapy & Occupational therapy’ while the Master of Prosthetics & Orthotics is affiliated to ‘The rehabilitation Council of India’.

Master of Physiotherapy – MPT

The Master of Physiotherapy course provides a fast tract learning experience for talented students who already hold a bachelors degree, to gain knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors expected of an entry level physiotherapist. The course has a hybrid structure using curriculum (to efficiently learn foundation knowledge) together with case studies and clinical practice (to integrate knowledge into clinical decision making). The course emphasizes evidence based practice and encourages students in critical thinking.

Duration of the course:

The duration of Masters of Physiotherapy (MPT) is 2 years full time with the medium of instruction being English.

Eligibility:

The candidates should have passed Bachelors in Physiotherapy from a recognized University and Institution with at least 50% marks.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

The admission will be made on Merit based on the basis of the marks obtained in Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the University in the month of May.

COMMON ENTRANCE TEST

Selection of the candidates, who are eligible to apply, shall be made on Merit prepared on the basis of marks obtained in CET for all the programs as per the schedule given by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University

Master Occupational Therapists – MOT

Occupational Therapists help people improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. The instruct those with permanent disabilities, such as spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, or muscular dystrophy, in the use of adaptive equipments, including wheelchairs, Orthotics and aids for eating and dressing.

They also design or make special equipment needed at home or at work. Therapists develop computer-aided adaptive equipment and teach patients with severe limitations how to use that equipment in order to communicated better and control various aspects of their environment.

The core philosophy behind MOT program is to essentially broaden the horizons of the therapists in India. The program is designed to prepare individuals to be leaders in the field utilizing sciences as framework for problem solving.

Master Prosthetics & Orthotics – MPO

The higher education in Prosthetics and Orthotics aims to impart students and future professional with knowledge and skills which would help them make appropriate decisions required in practice. Emphasis is laid on development of innovative designs, research and evidence based practice. The emerging trends in new technologies like robotics, neuroscience, electronics and advanced materials have revolutionized the field of Prosthetics and Orthotics.
