Madhu Bala Institute of Communication & Electronic Media – MBICEM is a charitable organization committed to increase multiplier effect in the country. Ever since its inception the institute has been organising and conducting short/long duration programmes in the areas of Journalism & Mass Communication in Print, Radio, Television, Photo Journalism, Direction, Production, Lighting, Camera, Video Editing, Computer Graphics, Event Management, Advertising, Public Relations so as to enable the students to establish a single person media shop. This is the only course of its kind in India having comprehensive approach to produce global communication managers, equipped with the latest technical know how in the industry.

Set up in 1996 in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, MBICEM is an initiative in response to the growing demand for trained Media Professionals. Registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, with the objective to promote Communication and Electronic Media through Education, Training, Research, Evaluation, Production, Services and Consultancy. In 1999 when the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) came into being with a focus on facilitating Professional Studies, MBICEM decided to get itself affiliated with this University for it realised that its dream of fulfilling the void existing between the industry’s demand for Trained Media Professionals and their supply can be suitably bridged only by conducting a three year’s programme leading to a degree in Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication.

Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication BJ(MC)

MBICEM, affiliated to GGSIP University, Delhi, focuses on nurturing the creative talent of students by providing them with hands-on training and media exposure. Bachelor of Journalism & Mass Communication is the only three year degree programme in India which aims at producing global communication professionals who can establish a ‘single person media shop’ .

Course Highlights :

1. Besides teaching the fundamentals of Journalism and Communication for Press, Radio, TV/ Film, Internet, Advertising and Public Relations the course stresses on practical training through latest technological tools.

2. The course helps students become familiar with the production techniques, style and methodology for Print, Radio, TV, Internet, Media Research and Event Management.

3. The course teaches computer softwares required for the Newspaper Industry, Camera Techniques, Lighting and Sound Application, Editing and Sound Effects, Graphics, Radio & TV, Direction/Production.

4. It is the only course of its kind in India which aims at producing Global Communication Managers equipped with technical know-how and who, moreover, can establish a Single-Person Media Shop.

Admission Procedure : Through Common Entrance Test (CET), conducted by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, in May/June.

Teaching Methodology : The Institute follows a holistic approach in teaching through case studies, class-room lectures with various teaching aids, group discussions, seminars, visits by eminent guest faculty, field visits and project presentation. It also encourages meritorious students through Cash Awards/Scholarships.
